Vehamayr Gospel

The Vehamayr Gospel manuscript (named after the mother of Vazgen I, Catholicos of All Armenians, who donated it to the St. Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran, is one of the state symbols of the Republic of Armenia. It dates back to the VII century. As a tradition, during the service of inaguration, the newly elected president takes the oath of the office on the "Vehamayr" Gospel and the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia.
