The members of the Supreme Spiritual Council strongly condemned the steps taken against the participants of the peaceful gathering on June 12. They issued a statement stating that an attempt is being made to silence the righteous grievances of the public against the authorities, which are manifested through peaceful acts of protest and disobedience. The Council also condemned the spread of groundless and false news by the high-ranking representatives of the government, attributing the responsibility for the organization of the rallies to the Church.
