Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

Realizing the role of the church and faith in the life of the Armenian people, the Turkish government specifically killed Armenian clergymen, destroyed churches and monasteries, thousands of medieval manuscripts, seized church property. Despite the heavy losses suffered, the church was the only structure in the territory of Armenia that was able to provide lasting and organized aid to the population with all the means available to it.
