In the Armenian Apostolic Church the week preceding the feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany, (December 29 to January 5) is a period of fasting. The fasting ends on January 5th when a candlelight Divine Liturgy is celebrated, proclaiming the great tiding of the birth of Christ.
