Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

A special meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council was convened in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin by His Holiness Karekin II. The Council has issued an urgent statement asking the Georgian government to protect and preserve the historical Holy Nishan Armenian church, as has been repeatedly promised and assured by the Georgian authorities, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and His Holiness Iliaa II, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
