Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On June 19, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrates the feast- day of St. Hovhannes Karapet and Bishop St. Atanagines. The relics of St. Hovhannes Karapet were brought to Shoghakat Church, as the day also marks the Pilgrimage Day of Shoghakat. The feast was established in our church by St. Gregory the Illuminator, when travelling from Ashtishat to Vagharshapat he stopped at Bagaran, leaving the relics of the saints there and ordering that a Divine Liturgy be offered in the memory of the saints every year.
