Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

A festive liturgy will be served in all Armenian Apostolic churches on that day. Before that, the Sabbath preceding the holiday began on September 9, during which believers will prepare for the feast of the raising of the Holy Cross by prayer. At the heart of feast is the historical case when the Holy Cross captured from the Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Jerusalem was freed from about twenty years of captivity. The cross was moved in a solemn procession to the Armenian city of Karin, then to Constantinople, and then to Jerusalem.
