New AGBU Headquarters. New Library and Manuscript Repository
The ground breaking events for the new AGBU Central Office building in Yerevan was recently held. In attendance were His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; Mr. Taron Margaryan, Yerevan City Mayor; clergyman and AGBU members. The construction of the new building is scheduled to be completed in 2013. The Central Office will have various public spaces for business sessions and exhibitions. The first three phases of the building have been constructed. On October 18, 2012 in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the opening ceremony for the new Library and Manuscript Repository (Matenadaran) will be held. The new building has been constructed through the sponsorship of Church and National Philantropists Mr. and Mrs. Vatche and Tamar Manoukian, of Great Britain. Two days following the opening ceremony, the AGBU General Assembly will be held in the newly opened building.
