Ground Blessing Service in the Mother See

On 21 October, 2012 under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, a ground blessing service was offered for the new Candle Offering Room and Burial Tomb of the Catholicoi, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Present for the service were members of the Brotherhood of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, philanthropists, AGBU President Berge Setrakian; and other pilgrims. The hall, which is designed jointly by the architectures Aslan Mkhitarian and Haik Mkrtchian, will partly be located in underground with natural and artificial lighting, and will be covered with dark granite tiles. The benefactors of the building are Mr. and Mrs. Karnig and Anahit Yacoubian of Canada.
