During Great Lent some changes take place in in the Armenian Church. The holy alter of the church remains closed by altar curtains, and the faithful don’t receive communion expect under special circumstances or when a liturgical feast day is celebrated during the Lenten period, at which point communion is then offered during Divine Liturgy.
