Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On July 03 the Armenian Church celebrated the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ which is one of the five “Tabernacle” feasts of the Armenian Church. It commemorates the transformation or the “transfiguration” of Our Lord Jesus while He was praying as it is depicted in the Gospel. This day is also associated with an old Armenian tradition of pouring water on one another which is a remnant of pre-Christian tradition.
