Feast of the Discovery of the Holy Cross

On October 27, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Feast of the Discovery of the Holy Cross, one of the 4 major feasts dedicated to the Holy Cross. On this occasion Divine Liturgy was offered in all Armenian churches. In the Mother Cathedral the celebrant was Rev. Father Aharon Shahverdyan . According to Holy tradition, the Empress Helen of the Roman Empire went to Jerusalem and discovered the Holy Cross in 326. Pieces of the Holy Cross were divided among the Christian Churches. One of its relics is kept by the Armenian Church in the Cathedral Museum of the Mother See.
