Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On August 16, 2014 Armenian Church celebrated the Feast of “Shoghakat” of Holy Etchmiadzin which commemorates the inauguration of the Cathedral of the Mother See. The vision of St. Gregory became known as “Shoghakat”, as the Saint saw a fiery column descending from the sky. It is celebrated in the Armenian Church on the Saturday preceding the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God.
