Feast-Day of St. Sarkis the Captain and His Soldiers

On January 31, 2015, the Armenian Church celebrated the Feast of St. Sarkis the Captain and His Soldiers. On this occasion Divine Liturgy was celebrated in all churches named after St. Sarkis. The relics of St. Sarkis were taken from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to the St. Sarkis Cathedral of Yerevan, and the Avetis Yeretz Gospel was brought from the Matenadaran of Yerevan. Following Divine Liturgy His Eminence Archbishop Navasard Ktchoyan,Vicar of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese and His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Head Chaplain of the Armenian Army offered ceremony of blessing of young people.
