Commemoration of Beheading of St. John the Baptist

The Saturday following the Holy Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Armenian Church commemorates the beheading of St. John the Baptist (also known as The Forerunner). On this occasion, on April 07, the relics of the saint were taken from the Mother See to the St. Karapet Church of Gavar, where Divine Liturgy was celebrated.
