The Armenian community of Belgium was started in the 1930s. In 1991, the community was assigned a parish priest to serve the faithful. The St. Mary Magdalene Church in Brussels serves as the community headquarters. The single active Armenian Church in Belgium was consecrated in 1990, by Catholicos Vazgen I of Blessed Memory. In 2009, the Very Rev. Fr. Zatik Avetikyan was called there to serve.
