Archaeological discovery in Oshakan-2012

With the agreement of the Culture Minister of the Republic of Armenia, and the permission of His Grace Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, Primate of the Diocese of Aragatsotn; Architect Mary Danielyan has conducted research on the bell-tower of the St. Mesrob Mashtots Church in Oshakan. The results have revealed a staircase located beneath the tower. The staircase leads up to a building of 5th century, which houses the coffin of Saint Mesrob Mashtots.
