Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

At the conclusion of the Sunrise service, a memorial service was performed. These days, the church incenses the memory of the innocent Armenians who were martyred during the Armenian pogroms in Sumgait in 1988. The exact number of victims of the organized deportation and massacre of Armenians in Sumgait is not known. Hundreds of Armenians were tortured, killed, those who survived were robbed and displaced.
