The Message of the Catholicos of All Armenians on the Internal Political Situation in Armenia
Dictated by the growing internal tensions in the society the country is facing, with serious external and internal challenges, and the lack of public trust towards the Prime Minister; We expressed Our Pontifical exhortation to him; to take a commitment and resign; to prevent clashes, potential conflicts and tragic consequences in public life. In this regard, at this crucial moment for our Homeland, we call on the National Assembly to act with high sense of responsibility to listen to the demands of the public, and, in consultation with the political forces, elect a new Prime Minister; and form an interim government with the national agreement. Only the government with a public trust and formed by the professionals, will be able to resolve the issues our people are facing; to restore national solidarity and unity; and organize an extraordinary parliamentary elections of indisputable necessity.
