The Procession of the Feast of Exaltation of Holy Cross

On September 15, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, an Evening service was performed in the St. John the Baptist and St. Vardan Chapel-baptistery of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Following the Evening Service, under the patronage of His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department; the solemn procession of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross took place in the courtyard of the Mother Cathedral. With the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the reliquary enclosing the relic of the Holy Cross was brought out for the worship and consolation of the faithful.
The Andastan service was also held, during which the Patriarch of All Armenians blessed the basil decorating the cross and the four corners of the world.
