Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On March 20, the meeting of the Catholicos of All Armenians Karelin II and the President of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Armen Sargsyan; was held in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The President of the Republic and the Armenian Pontiff touched upon the situation after the Artsakh war and humanitarian issues, especially the work undertaken to return the Armenian prisoners-of-war and civilians held on the Azerbaijani side, and find the missing and the bodies of the victims. Issues related to the preservation of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh were also discussed; in particular, a concern was expressed related to the barbaric attitude towards the historical monuments and sanctuaries on the territories under the control of Azerbaijan. The President of the Republic and the Armenian Patriarch reflected on the current situation in the country, the ways of overcoming the domestic political crisis, as well as, the pivotal national issues and challenges.
