The Patriarch of All Armenians Hosted the Graduates and Students of the Armenian University
On May 7, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received about 150 graduates and students of the Armenian University.
Mr. Varuzhan Geghamyan, candidate of historical sciences, co-founder of the Armenian University project implemented by the "Armenian Project" educational NGO, presented to His Holiness the goals of the educational structure, implemented programs and recorded successes. Mr. Geghamyan also emphasized that, apart from education, the university aims to acquaint students with national values.
Conveying his paternal love and blessings to the graduates and students of the Armenian University, His Holiness noted the importance of education with spiritual and moral values along with the transmission of knowledge. According to the Patriarch, it is in the case of formation with spiritual and moral values that knowledge can give a person a prosperous and happy life.
At the meeting, His Holiness, referring to the difficult situation of the homeland and the challenges faced by the Armenian people, emphasized the importance of the Armenian upbringing of Armenians, thanks to which it will only be possible to get out of the current difficult situation. In all of this, His Holiness also noted the role of Higher Educational Institutions to strengthen the feelings of patriotism and love towards God among young people.
During the conversation, the Catholicos of All Armenians confirmed that the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church has always kept alive the idea of independent statehood among the Armenian people, and also emphasized the protection of the right of Artsakh Armenians to live freely and independently.
At the conclusion, His Holiness answered the questions of the students, which were related to the application of the principles of Christian doctrine in society and the propaganda activities unfolding in the information field.
Following the meeting, the graduates and students of the Armenian University attended in the Divine Liturgy in the St. Gayane Monastery.
