Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On November 27, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Rev. Fr. Ararat Poghosyan, Director of the "Vatche and Tamar Manookian" Matenadaran and Publishing Department of the Mother See, who was awarded the title of candidate of historical sciences by the RA Higher Qualification Committee with the specialty "Armenian History".

With the blessings of His Holiness, Father Ararat, after graduating from the Gevorgyan Theological Seminary, continued his studies at the History Faculty of YSU. The candidate's thesis submitted to the professional council of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia is entitled "Armenian Church in the Armenian Liberation Struggle of the 3rd-3rd Centuries".

At the meeting, the Patriarch of All Armenians, emphasizing the scientific achievement of the Father Ararat, emphasized that this work will provide an opportunity for the public and those interested in the history of the Armenian people to familiarize themselves with the role of the Armenian Church in the Armenian liberation struggle of the 16-17th centuries.

The Armenian Patriarch noted with satisfaction that the clergymen are also carrying out scientific activities, urging Reverend Father Ararat to bring the accumulated knowledge to fruition with new studies.

At the conclusion, Father Ararat handed over his dissertation and the candidate degree certificate to His Holiness.
