The Catholicos of All Armenians received the participants of the AGBU AYA program in the "Andranik" Scout Camping
On July 24, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the participants of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) program in the "Andranik" Scout Camping, accompanied by Vazgen Yakubyan, the president of AGBU Armenia, a member of the Central Board of AGBU.
At the meeting, Mr. Yakubyan, asking the blessings of His Holiness, emphasized that the participants of the program in the "Andranik" scout army of AGBU have visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on a pilgrimage to renew their pledge of loyalty and strengthen their love for national and spiritual values. Mr. Yakubyan also informed that the scouts of Syria, Iran, Iraq and Armenia branches of AGBU are participating in the program.
Conveying his paternal blessings, His Holiness emphasized to the scouts the importance of the consolidation of Diaspora Armenians in the homeland, which will leave its indelible mark in the lives of the young people, providing an opportunity to strengthen their identity, feel the breath and spirit of the homeland, and communicate with the national and spiritual values. On this occasion, the Catholicos of All Armenians highly appreciated the AGBU central administration for the implementation of the patriotic mission in the national life, for the continuous support shown to the Mother See and the worldwide dioceses of the Armenian Church, as well as for the implementation of various educational and cultural programs.
The Armenian Patriarch commanded the young scouts to be faithful to the spirit of AGBU, to be the bearer of the national identity, to be guided by national interests and, as worthy children of the Armenian people and the Church, to continue their mission for the sake of building the life of Armenians with commitment.
