The Catholicos of All Armenians Received the Newly Appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia 10.06.2021

On June 10, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Mr Bolat Imanbaev, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia.

Wishing the Ambassador a productive mission in Armenia, the Catholicos of All Armenians stressed that warm relations and effective cooperation have been established between the Mother See and the Embassy of Kazakhstan.

His Holiness especially reflected on the cooperation in the field of interfaith dialogue, recalling the participation of the Armenian Church in the World Congress of Traditional Religious Leaders and his visit to Kazakhstan within the framework of the Congress.

In his speech, the Patriarch of All Armenians reflected on the difficult post-war situation, expressing hope that friendly Kazakhstan, as a CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) member, will contribute to the efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.

His Holiness drew Ambassador Imanba's attention to the disturbing facts of encroachments of the Azerbaijani armed forces on the borders of Armenia, as well as to the brutal attitude towards the Armenian cultural heritage in the Artsakh territories under the control of Azerbaijan.

In his turn, the newly appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan conveyed to the Armenian Patriarch the best wishes of the President and the state officials of Kazakhstan.

The Ambassador also emphasized the importance of inter-faith dialogue in the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of peoples.

In this regard, Ambassador Imanba expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for the important participation of the Armenian Church in the organization works of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions,  initiated by the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Speaking about the most developing and strengthening political and economic cooperation established between the countries, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan stressed that it is a great honor for him to continue the traditions of friendship.

Mr. Imanbaev also assured the Catholicos of All Armenians that he should continue his efforts to further deepen cooperation between the Mother See and Kazakhstan.

They also touched upon the important role of the Armenian community of Kazakhstan in strengthening the bilateral relations.
