The Catholicos of All Armenians Received the Members of Existing and Newly Elected Conference of the Brotherhood Conference
On June 11, the feast of the Universal Church of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received members of the existing and newly elected conference of the Brotherhood Conference.
His Holiness expressed his gratitude for the successful work done to the working committee of the Brotherhood Conference, which includes: Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Garegin Hambardzumyan, Director of the Mission Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin; Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Andreas Yezekyan, Head of the Department of Historical Theology of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary; Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Tirayr Hakobyan, Deputy Director of the Information Service Department of the Mother See; Rev. Fr. ArchimandriteYeremia Abgaryan, from the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America; Rev. Fr. Aren Chepechyan, from the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America; Rev. Fr. Shnork Sargsyan, Vicar of the Pontifical Delegate of Western Europe in Spain and Portugal.
The Armenian Patriarch also conveyed his Patriarchal blessings to the members of the new Conference: Rev. Fr. Simeon Odabashyan from the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America; Rev. Fr. Asoghik Karapetyan, Director of Archives and Museums of the Mother See; Rev. Fr. Derenik Sahakyan; Rev. Fr. Hakob Sahakyan from the Armenian Diocese of Georgia; Rev. Fr. Aghan Yernjakyan; Rev. Fr. Ghevond Saghatelyan from the Armenian Diocese of Iraq. His Holiness Karekin II urged the members of the Conference to start organizing the next Brotherhood Conference meeting with diligence and undiminished energy, taking into account the current issues affecting the Motherland, the Church and the people.
The Brotherhood Conference takes place every two years in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Brotherhood serving in different dioceses and structures of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church (priests, Archimandrites and Proto-Archimandrites) come together in the Armenian Spiritual Center to discuss the challenges faced by the Armenian Church, to look for ways to overcome them, to exchange experiences of spiritual service, as well as to renew their vows.
