The Catholicos of All Armenians Received the Governor of Murmansk, Russia
On March 24, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received the delegation led by Andrei Chibis, the Governor of Murmansk of the Russian Federation.
During the conversation, His Holiness noted with gratitude that the fraternal relations between the two nations have a centuries-old history, and such visits contribute to the further strengthening of friendly ties and cooperation between the two countries. The Armenian Patriarch emphasized that over the centuries, the friendly nations side by side, together, have been able to face and overcome many trials and difficulties.
During the meeting, His Holiness also referred to the warm relations and effective interaction between the Armenian Apostolic and Russian Orthodox Churches, gratefully stating the efforts made by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in recent years towards the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict and the undisturbed preservation of the Armenian spiritual heritage.
In turn, the Murmansk Governor Andrey Chibis, emphasizing the further deepening and development of Armenian-Russian relations, expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for the important contribution of the Armenian Church in strengthening the friendly ties between the two peoples. The Governor also presented to His Holiness the Murmansk region and its achievements in various fields, highlighting the active role of the local Armenian community.
At the meeting, a reflection was made on the current challenges and existing concerns facing both countries.
