The Catholicos of All Armenians Received the Delegation of the Korea-Armenia Friendship Group
On February 14, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the delegation led by Mr. Ki Hun Song, head of the Korea-Armenia friendship group in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Expressing gratitude on the occasion of the cooperative relations established between the two countries, His Holiness expressed hope that the delegation's visit to Armenia will become a new stimulus for the further deepening of Armenian-Korean relations.
The Armenian Patriarch recalled his visit to South Korea back in 2013, on the occasion of the General Assembly of the World Council of Churches.
During the meeting, a reflection was made on the situation in the region and post-war challenges. The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his concern regarding the humanitarian disaster caused by the blocking of the Lachin Corridor, as well as the return of captives and the undisturbed preservation of the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage in the territories under the control of Azerbaijan, highlighting the consistent efforts of the international community to prevent the dimensional policy adopted by Azerbaijan. In his turn, Mr. Ki Hun Song noted the importance of efforts aimed at the rapprochement of Armenian-Korean cooperation.
