The Catholicos of All Armenians received the delegation of the Halle University 21.05.2024

On May 21, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the professorial delegation and students of the theology faculty of the Martin Luther University in Halle, Germany, led by the director of the Eastern and Southern European Department of the Evangelical Church in Germany, Professor Martin Illert.

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Germany, His Grace Bishops Serovbe Bishop Isakhanyan; Director of the Administrative and Economic Department of the Mother See, His Grace Bishop Mousegh Babayan and Proto-Archimandrite Shahe Ananyan, Dean of the Gevorgyan Theological Seminary.

The dean of the theology faculty of the university, Dr. Daniel Tsyranka, informed the Catholicos of All Armenians that the goal of the delegation's visit is to deepen the cooperation in the field of education with RA HEIs and Mother See Holy Etchmiadzin Gevorgian Theological Seminary.

Afterwards, the Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his blessings to the guests, highly appreciating the planned programs in the field of education and the forming partnership. On this occasion, His Holiness Karekin II happily emphasized that the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin continue their higher education in famous theological universities of different countries and spiritual educational institutions of the Sister Churches, which significantly contributes to mutual recognition and closer inter-church ties.

The Catholicos of All Armenians also expressed satisfaction with the cordial interaction between the Armenian Diocese of Germany and various Christian denominations operating in Germany.

At the conclusion, His Holiness answered the questions of the guests, which were related to the challenges facing Armenia, the efforts made by the Armenian Church to overcome them, and the activities of the educational institutions of the Mother See.
