The Catholicos of All Armenians Received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

On October 20, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted Mr. Nico Schermers, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia.
His Holiness congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador, wishing him success in accomplishing his mission in Armenia. The Armenian Patriarch emphasized that the Ambassador assumed his responsibilities in a difficult period, when the Armenian people are fighting for the protection of the Artsakh people's right to a peaceful and independent life, to prevent a new genocide against the people. Reflecting on the Artsakh conflict and the ways to solve it; the Pontiff of All Armenians emphasized the importance of the decisive position and interference of the international community in support of the just demand of the independent life of the Armenians living in Artsakh. Praying for the restoration of lasting peace in the region, the Armenian Patriarch added, that We are full of faith that the justice and truth must prevail.
At the meeting, His Holiness referred to the historical ties between the two nations, in particular, speaking about the humanism and support shown by the people of the Netherlands to the needy Armenian people during the Genocide.
The Armenian Pontiff and the Ambassador also spoke about the current cooperation with the Churches of the Kingdom of Netherlands.
