Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On December 22, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the speakers of the conference entitled "Religions as guarantee of peaceful coexistence of nations" jointly organized by the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Relations and Culture Organization of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Mr. Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia.

At the meeting, His Holiness, expressing his gratitude regarding the organization of the conference, and emphasized that similar conferences and inter-religious dialogues contribute to the formation of an environment for the establishment and strengthening of peace between nations. As a vivid testimony of the it, the Catholicos of All Armenians noted the centuries-old historical experience of harmonious coexistence and relations between the two neighboring peoples.

During the meeting, reflecting on the difficult situation in the world and the existing conflicts, the Armenian Patriarch urged to heed the call for peace that will be heard from the altars of all Christian Churches on the upcoming Christmas holidays. "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." (Luke 2:14).

During the conversation, the Patriarch of All Armenians also referred to the Artsakh conflict, informing that the Spiritual Primates of the region are also making every efforts to resolve the conflict and establish peace between the nations.

In turn, Ambassador Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri expressed his confidence that inter-religious dialogue can be a strong bridge for the development of cooperative relations between nations in various fields.
