The Catholicos of All Armenians Received Representative of the Armenian Office of the United Nations Children's Fund

On June 21, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received representative of the UN Children's Fund Armenia office Christine Weigand. At the meeting, Christine Weigand conveyed information to His Holiness regarding the programs of protection of children of preschool and school age, vulnerable groups, healthcare and education, as well as reforms in the field of general education implemented by the office. The representative of the Armenian office of the United Nations Children's Fund emphasized the support of the Church within the implemented programs.
His Holiness Karekin II, expressing his gratitude to Christine Weigand, emphasized that the Church also consistently implements its mission in the indicated areas, contributing to the work of child care, education, upbringing and overcoming social problems of vulnerable groups. On this occasion, the Armenian Patriarch mentioned that under the auspices of the Armenian Church, there are Youth Centers, Sunday schools, child care centers, youth structures, which carry out psychological and educational missions.
In order to increase the efficiency of the programs implemented with children in the mentioned fields, the Armenian Patriarch stressed the importance of the close cooperation between the Church and the Armenian office of the United Nations Children's Fund.
