The Catholicos of All Armenians Received Members of the Community of St. John the Baptist Church of Detroit
On June 18, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the members of the community of Saint John the Baptist Church of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Paren Avetikyan, member of the Brotherhood of the Mother See.
Introducing the pilgrim Armenians to His Holiness, Archbishop Paren emphasized that for seventeen years the representatives of the Armenian community of Detroit have been sponsoring and carrying out volunteer work in the regions of Armenia, completing the construction works of half-built houses.
His Holiness, conveying his Paternal blessings to the pilgrim Armenians, emphasized their support for the improvement of the lives of the residents of the region. The Patriarch of All Armenians emphasized that the support shown by the Diaspora Armenians in these difficult days for the Motherland inspires hope and optimism to the children of the Armenian people living in Armenia.
His Holiness, appreciating also the spirit of dedication and willingness of the faithful Armenians, urged those who are faithful to the commandments of the Lord to constantly put their abilities and skills at the service of the strengthening and building of the Motherland.
