The Catholicos of All Armenians Had a Meeting with the Priest Accelerated Course Clergymen 21.12.2023

On December 21, in the “Garegin I” Educational Center, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; met the clergy who have completed the regular three-week Accelerated courses, who arrived from different dioceses of Armenia and the Diaspora.

His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan, Director of the “Garegin I” educational center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, summing up the year, Bishop Vahan reflected on the effectiveness of the courses. His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan informed His Holiness that 68 clergy have participated in the training courses so far.

On behalf of the clergy participating in the accelerated courses, the Patriarch of All Armenians was greeted by Rev. Fr. Avetis Hambardzumyan, the spiritual pastor of the Holy Resurrection Church of the Armenian Diocese of Australia and New Zealand in Sydney.

Father Avetis Hambardzumyan expressed his gratitude to the Armenian Patriarch for organizing the courses, assuring them that they will return to their pastoral service with new knowledge and spiritual enthusiasm after renewing their covenant with Holy Etchmiadzin.

His Holiness, conveying his blessing to the clergy, emphasized the importance of the training courses organized at the Mother See in making their spiritual ministry more effective. His Holiness noted that today the Armenian people are facing many challenges, in order to overcome them, the clergy must carry out their service to the nation, motherland and Church with high awareness and unconditional dedication.

The Armenian Patriarch also urged the churchmen to carry out a caring mission towards the depatriated Artsakh citizens and to make every effort to support them.

At the conclusion, His Holiness, conveying his appreciation and love to the spiritual fathers, wished God's support and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their responsible service.
