The 11th General Assembly of the Conference of European Churches Has Launched its Work
On July 7-10 of this year, the 11th summer assembly organized by the Conference of European Churches (CEC), dedicated to the protection of human rights, entitled "Safety, financial, political and legal protection of places of worship and cultural heritage", was launched in Malaga, Spain.
The 11th CEC summer assembly brought together representatives of CEC member churches and partner organizations. In the context of wars and military conflicts in Europe, the Conference of European Churches has developed the "Pathways to Peace" project, thereby providing a platform for dialogue and cooperation among the member churches of the CEC, as well as to discuss the challenges caused by the wars in the region, including the establishment of peace through justice and freedom, protection of fundamental human rights and freedom of religion, rights and cultural heritage of refugees and forcibly displaced people.
With the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Garegin Hambardzumyan, Director of the Inter-Church Relations Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and member of CEC Management Board, presents the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church at the activities of the 11th CEC summer conference. At the event, the Archimandrite made a report on the destruction of the spiritual cultural heritage of Artsakh by the Azerbaijani authorities, the protection of holy places and the urgency of restoring the fundamental rights of forcibly displaced Artsakh Armenians.
