Supreme Spiritual Council Meeting Convened in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On March 12, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; a Supreme Spiritual Council meeting was convened in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The meeting was opened with the Lord’s Prayer, following which the SSC members prayed for the peace of the souls of His Eminence Archbishop Mesrop Moutafyan, Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople and Rev. Fr. Hambardzum Keshishyan, member of the St. James Brotherhood of Jerusalem.
The Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his blessings to the clergy and the lay members of the Supreme Spiritual Council (SSC). His Holiness expressed his wish that the Heavenly Lord aid the efforts of the SSC members.
During the five-day meeting, issues related to the Church administrative, organizational-legal, canonical, disciplinary, social and church mission efficiency will be discussed.
The topic of the discussion will be the events dedicated to the Year of Family and events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Komitas Vardabed and Hovhannes Tumanyan. During the meeting the 2018 activity report of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin will also be presented.
The agenda also includes issues relating to the relations with the Hierarchical Sees, dioceses, patriarchal delegations and pastoral mission․
