Supreme Spiritual Council Convened in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On May 29, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; a Supreme Spiritual Council meeting was held in Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The four-day meeting was opened with the blessing remarks of His Holiness Karekin II. Welcoming the lay and clergy members of the SSC from various dioceses, His Holiness conveyed his appreciation for their devoted service.
His Holiness congratulated the attendees on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and May Heroic Battles, expressing gratitude that the SSC members had the opportunity to participate in the festive events organized within the framework of the 100th anniversary. His Holiness announced that in the coming days the members of the Supreme Spiritual Council would visit Tsitsernakaberd and the Sardarapat Memorial, to pay tribute and raise their prayers for the those who have been martyred for the protection and faith of the Homeland.
Wishing the SSC meeting productive work, Catholicos Karekin II noted that the agenda of the session includes important issues related to national and church life.
Specifically to be discussed will be materials and other issues related to the Bylaw of the Supreme Spiritual Council; Bylaws of the Committees of the Church-Representatives Assembly; Bylaws of different dioceses, as well as events within the 2018 Year of Youth. The process of restoration and reconstruction of the Mother Cathedral will also be discussed.
