The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin expresses its deep concern regarding the detention of Gayane Hakobyan, mother who lost a child, on the charge of alleged kidnapping of the Prime Pinister's son.
In the conditions of current threats to national security, such processes that cause riots and excitement in the society are a severe blow to the strength and dedication of the spirit of our children who are committed to the defense of the Motherland and can lead to new divisions in the national life.
We urge the relevant authorities, taking into account the circumstance of the parent of a fallen soldier and the existing concerns and sensitivities in the country, to conduct the investigation of the criminal case with all impartiality without isolating Mrs. Gayane Hakobyan.
We pray for the peace of our Homeland and the security of our state. We also pray for the repose of the souls of all our martyred children and extend our support to the parents and families of the fallen soldiers.
