Requiem Service at the Martyred Clergymen Memorial Wall 05.04.2017

By order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; April 6th, the martyrdom day of His Holiness Khoren I Muradbekyan, 128th Catholicos of All Armenians; was declared as Memorial Day for clergy who were persecuted and martyred during the years of communist dictatorship.

On this occasion, a Requiem Service will be offered at 12:00, at the Martyred Clergymen Memorial Wall on the grounds of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The service will be presided by His Holiness Karekin II, with the participation and attendance by members of the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin, officials, and pious faithful.

The Martyred Clergymen Memorial Wall was built in 2012, through the generous charity of Mr. Alexander Ter-Avanesov of Moscow, Russia. The architect is the late Jim Torosyan. On the memorial wall are carved the names of the clergymen martyred between 1920 and 1930.
