Repose of Souls Service in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
On Sunday October 27, Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin on the Feast of the Discovery of the Holy Cross. His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians presided.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a solemn Repose of Souls service was held with the participation of the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin, in memory of those slain in the National Assembly on October 27, 1999: Prime Minister Vazgen Sargisian, National Assembly President Karen Demirchian, Yuri Bakhshian, Ruben Miroyan, Henrik Abrahamian, Armenak Armenakian, Mikael Kotanian, and Leonard Petrosian. Prayers were also offered requesting peace for the souls of the victims of the dreadful acts of terrorism which took place this past week in Moscow?s Cultural Theater, in the Russian Federation.
The class of clergy offered their prayers to God, so that He may keep the souls of the victims under His peaceful light, and bestow His heavenly blessings.
