Repose of Souls Service in Memory of the 1988 Earthquake Victims

On December 7, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; a Repose of Souls Service (Hokehankist) was conducted in the St. Vartan and St. Hovhannes Mkrtich Baptistery in memory of the 1988 earthquake victims.
The Service was attended by President of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Armen Sargsyan and Mrs. Nune Sargsyan.
Before the Service, His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See delivered remarks, reflecting on the heavy losses caused by the devastating earthquake and the consequences that have not yet completely overcome.
During the Repose of Souls Service, the Brotherhood of the Mother See, led by the Catholicos of All Armenians, also prayed for the peace of the souls of recently deceased pilots, Lieutenant colonel Armen Babayan; Major Movses Manukyan and soldier Hayk Karamyan.
