Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On February 14, the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the presentation of the 40 day-old Christ Child to the Temple in Jerusalem. At the St. Gayane Monastery, the Brotherhood of the Mother See offered a Divine Liturgy. The Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Ignatious Malkhasyan, member of the Brotherhood of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and spiritual servant of the St. Gayane Monastery.

During the Divine Liturgy, in his remarks Fr. Ignatious referred to the mystery of the Feast. He particularly spoke about Lord's humility, which should be followed by all the faithful. "Our Lord Jesus Christ, the great example of humility, has fulfilled all the divine laws that He had set up for the divine justice and in addition to the fulfillment of laws or as it is written in the hymn: "Today, you came to the temple to fulfill the law for the salvation of people". And He gave us the divine humility. Humility which denying hatred, creates love and instead of opposition, despair, enmity spreads harmony, hope, forgiveness, happiness, rejects darkness and shadow by spreading light and warmth. Humilty when He bowed down to wash the feet of the disciples", stated the Celebrant, adding that God is the true light that illuminates the lives of the people and warms their hearts and souls.

Following the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Moushegh Babayan conducted a service of blessing for the newly married. On the occasion of the Feast, Bishop Moushegh also congratulated the young people and wished them happiness.
