The Catholicos of All Armenians blessed hundreds of children gathered in the Mother See
On March 25, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the Armenian Church celebrated the Feast of Palm Sunday, which commemorates the triumphant entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday is also annually declared to be the Blessing of Children Day.
March 25 was crowded in the spiritual center of all Armenians. Early in the morning, many children from different parts of Armenia, accompanied by their parents arrived at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to receive the blessings and best wishes of the Catholicos of All Armenians.
Following the Morning Service, His Holiness Karekin II presided and offered the blessing service for the four corners of the world (Andastan).
Following the service, His Holiness conveyed his blessings to the attending children. After the Lord’s Prayer, the Armenian Pontiff granted crosses to children and branches were distributed to the faithful.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Catholicos of All Armenians met with a group of children from the Diocese of Tavush who visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. They were accompanied by His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan. The children of Tavoush granted His Holiness Olive branches and their handmade works.
Conveying his Pontifical blessings to the children, he granted them crosses and wished that God's love and graces will always be abundant in the lives of the Armenian children and that they live in peace and happiness.
