Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

With the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholiocos of All Armenians, the Publishing Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has published the book “History of the Holy Writings’s Armenian Translation” by His Eminence Archbishop Mesrop Ter-Movsisyan, member of the Brotherhood of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. It was translated from Russian to Armenian by Mrs. Susanna Hayrapetyan.

The current book of Mesrop Ter-Movsisyan (1865-1939) is the first serious scientific study of the Armenian Bible manuscript tradition which was made on the basis of the famous materials of the author at the end of the 19th century. It is one of the important steps or achievements of Armenian studies and Armenian Bible studies during the tme of its publication. Being published in Russian in Saint Petersburg in 1902, the work has not yet been accessible to many Armenologists.

The book was published by the benevolent sponsorship of the benefactor of the Mother See, the Sarkis Gabrellian Fund.
