New Clergy Appointments from Holy Etchmiadzin
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has assigned 21 new priests to serve in the dioceses of the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church.
Eighteen of them are newly ordained priests, who following their ordinations, completed the traditional 40-day seclusion period of fasting, mediation and prayer and celebrated their inaugural Divine Liturgies at different churches throughout Armenia.
The Pontifical order of His Holiness assigns the clergymen as follows:
The Araratian Pontifical Diocese, the largest Armenian Church diocese in the world, will receive two new priests, Rev. Fr. Derenik Mikaelian and Rev. Fr. Zgon Abrahamian.
Rev. Fr. Karekin Arsenian and Rev. Fr. Nerses Rushanian have been appointed to serve in the Diocese of Aragatsotn.
Rev. Fr. Simeon Ter-Mkrtchian and Rev. Fr. Gevork Ter-Barseghian have been appointed to serve in the Diocese of Gegharkunik.
Rev. Fr. Vrtanes Baghalian, Rev. Fr. Stepanos Margarian, Rev. Fr. Torgom Margarian and Rev. Fr. Mashtots Stepanian will serve in various cities throughout the Diocese of Gougark.
Rev. Fr. Stepanos Avetisian and Rev. Fr. Hovhannes Alexandrian have been appointed to serve in the Diocese of Shirak.
Rev. Fr. Khachatur Kesablian, Rev. Fr. Husik Nurijanian and Rev. Fr. Sepouh Harutyunian will serve in the Diocese of Syunik.
Rev. Fr. Mesrop Mkrtchian has been appointed to serve in the Diocese of Artsakh (Republic of Nagorno Karabagh).
Rev. Fr. Sebeos Ghalachian, Rev. Fr. Grigor Grigorian and Rev. Fr. Mashtots Hakobian have been appointed to serve in the Armenian Diocese of Russia and New Nakhijevan.
