Members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group Visited Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
On June 19, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group from the National Assembly of the French Republic. They were led by Mr. Jacques Marilossian, member of the French National Assembly, and President of the France-Armenia Friendship Group Mr. Marilossian presented the group members to His Holiness and conveyed information about the activities of the France-Armenia Friendship Group.
The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group, for the efforts made in the development and strengthening of the Armenian-French ties. His Holiness joyfully noted that since the independence of Armenia, the group of legislators has always supported the Armenian people. His Holiness also mentioned that he is proud to see three Armenians among the group.
Catholicos Karekin II, spoke with satisfaction about the French-Armenian community. He noted that they are actively involved in the life of France, and continue to maintain their national identity and culture, as well as contributing to the development and prosperity of the country.
His Holiness stressed that thanks to the Armenians living in France, the relations between the Armenian and French peoples are characterized by special warmth.
At the conclusion, His Holiness wished the members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group be productive in their work.
Attending the meeting were His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See.
