Meeting of the Anglican-Oriental Orthodox Ecumenical Churches Theological Commission 08.02.2016

From January 31 to February 8, the Anglican-Oriental Orthodox Committee held a session in Cairo's Coptic Orthodox Church-in St. Marcos Center.

On January 31, in the St. Bishoy Monastery, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II of the Coptic Orthodox Church received and conveyed his blessings to the Committee members.

From February 1-5, the Committee discussed some issues of the ritual tradition of the Eastern Orthodox and Catholic Churches, particularly the ritual-theological specifics of ritual perception and performance of Baptism within the traditions of every ecclesiastical family.

Attending the meeting from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin were His Grace Bishop Ashot Mnacakanyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Egypt; and His Grace Bishop Armash Nalbandyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Damascus.

During the meeting, it was decided to hold the next session in Rome, from January 21-28, 2017 and agenda discussion item will be the Divine Liturgy and the ritual-theological issues associated with it.
