Inter-parliamentary Committee of the Armenia-Poland Friendship of Poland Visited Mother See
On June 12, His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See; received the representatives of the Armenia-Poland Inter-Parliamentary Friendship of Poland, led by the Chairman of the Committee Mr. Tadeusz Wozniak. They were accompanied by Mr. Pavel Cheplak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Armenia. The meeting was held in the Vatche and Tamar Manookian Library,
During the meeting, Archbishop Nathan reflected on the centuries-old Armenian-Polish relations, stressing that the Armenians in Poland, with a 650-year presence, have contributed and are still actively participating in the country's cultural, political and economic life.
Archbishop Nathan spoke to the guests about the history of the Armenian Church, the role and activities of the Mother See in the life of the Armenian people.
Mr. Wozniak informed Archbishop Nathan that the aim of the visit was to deepen and expand Armenian-Polish cultural and economic ties. Mr. Wozniak also highlighted the development of inter-religious relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, they also talked about the relations between the Armenian Apostolic and Roman Catholic Churches.
