Holy Thursday Observed in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On March 29, Holy Thursday, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church commemorated the Last Supper of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the establishment of the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Early in the morning the Karg Apashkaroghats (Service for those who are fasting) was offered in the Mother Cathedral, following which His Grace Bishop Hovnan Hakobyan, Grand Sacristan of Mother See, read "Blessed is the Most Holy" prayer by Patriarch St. Hovhannes Voskebaran.
A Midday Service was held following which Rev. Fr. Aghan Yernjakyan offered a Divine Liturgy in remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ’s Last Supper and the establishment of the sacrament of Holy Communion.
During the Divine Liturgy, the speech of Basil of Caesarea was read. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Holy Altar curtains were closed.
Late in the afternoon, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians will offer Service of Washing of the Feet.
