His Holiness Karekin II Sends Letter Congratulating Arkady Ghukasyan

On August 12, 2002, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on behalf of the Supreme Spiritual Council and the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin, sent a letter of congratulations to His Excellency Arkady Ghukasyan on the occasion of his reelection to the Presidency of the Republic of Nagorno Karabagh.
The letter states in part: ?By the election of a president for the Republic of Nagorno Karabagh, the heroic people of Artsakh once again established their will to live free, and proclaimed their readiness to assist in the strengthening of the government of Artsakh, benefiting the reinforcing of the country and the desire to travel the journey which leads to prosperity.
?From the Altar of Light of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, we offer up our prayer to God Almighty, that the Armenian lands of Artsakh be protected and remain at peace under His daily blessings. May God be your helper and leader in Your Excellency?s high and responsible position as President, in the name of our faithful people dispersed throughout the world.?
